Building the Ideal Body: Patience is a virtue

We’ve all heard of the famous saying ‘Patience is a virtue’. This is not only limited to one’s professional life but rather life as a whole, even while achieving your fitness goals, whether it’s getting lean or becoming Mr Olympia.

Not having patience would only lead to frustration and poor, or no results. This will end up demotivating you, and probably deceive you into thinking that things like healthy eating and working out are just a myth. And what does this mean, you quit going to the gym, you quit eating healthy, making things worse. Being patient will help you to stay motivated and overcome difficulties.

Remember, this is a difficult process, every moment of it may feel miserable, but there is no such thing as free lunch. The harder it gets, the more rewarding the results are. There are many things that can even frustrate professional trainers, let alone newbies, but don’t let this get to you, be patient, it’ll get better.

You are bound to face many difficulties, every time you’re in the gym or the kitchen, you will feel frustrated after a certain point, but it’s critical that you make an effort of pushing yourself. Patience and tolerance is the only weapon you’ve got in your arsenal at this point so that you can sustain this regime.

Your nutrition should also be planned with Patience

You’ll surely have to change your eating habits. This may seem really challenging at first. Waking up to buttered toast and delicious waffles with the maple syrup waiting next to it, you’ll have to avoid it temporarily if you want results, or else accept yourself the way you are if you’re not willing to make these small compromises.

Usually, people may figure out that they have been eating more than they should. But staying oblivious of this fact is what makes them frustrated because they do not know the reason why their diet is not working, so be sure to educate yourself every day, it helps significantly.

Remember, you won’t get results overnight. And please do yourself a favour and avoid those scam programs that you come across on YouTube or the internet such as lose 5 kilos in 10 days, these things are not realistic and are only a scam. Your body will also take time to adapt to the new diet that you are following.
Be patient with your nutritional strategy, it may take a while to work. As you start eating correctly, your eating habits will improve, and once you start seeing the results, your motivation will reach a whole new level.

After a certain period of following a strict diet, you can also start incorporating your favourite foods into your nutritional diet. This will help you if you are planning to this for a long period of time.

Be patient with your training

Remember, Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson has said, “Blood, Sweat and Respect, fitst two you give, the third one you earn”. If you want the results you desire, a lot of hard work will have to go in.
Stick to your training programs, and be consistent. Keep on increasing your difficulty level slightly every alternate day to make things challenging and get better results.
Remember, significant improvement is a result of several small changes over time. Building strength is a time-consuming process, so give it time. So is losing weight and getting lean. Your body needs time to adjust to the increase of protein or fibre intake.
Give your program enough time to produce results. Evaluate results on a long-term basis, for instance, if you’re planning to lose weight, compare the results on a weekly basis rather than daily basis, it helps. You’ll feel like you have accomplished progress.

Be Patient With Yourself

Being patient with yourself is equally important along with being patient with your diet and training. Embrace the fact that there will be setbacks, a lot of them! Planning the program and your diet is important, but they are of no use if you cease to follow them. You will find it difficult to stick to those tasteless oats and boiled eggs every morning, but as you start seeing results, you’ll feel like doing it more and more. There are no shortcuts; just put in as much if hard work as possible, whenever you can.

In my opinion, this read is relatable to many individuals just like me. I would often find people complaining about not being able to get results in the gym. What they would not understand is that these things take time. To put it in a more simpler way, I can say that the body you have been carrying around for the number of years you have lived, whether you are 20 years old or 25 years old, will take a good number of months to transform. How can you expect something to change in 15 days of 40 days, when you’ve been eating junk or unhealthy food, and avoiding exercises for around 20 or 25 years, or whatever your age may be for that matter?
